Nourished by the earth Sevre and Maine, two rivers that give character to the Muscadet of the same name, the valley turns Clisson Italian and Breton when we think its heritage. History: At the crossroads of three ancient provinces, Anjou, Poitou, Brittany, Clisson has a fascinating history that traces the time until about the 11th century. Very prosperous period of the Middle Ages and belonging to the Duchy of Brittany still mark many buildings. Famous people have lived in the imposing castle Clisson Olivier as the fifth or Constable Francis II, father of Anne of Brittany ... During the wars of Vendée, XVIIIth century, the valley suffered the brunt of the violence of the fighting.
