SIGHTSEEING

Abbey Boulbonne: Founded in 1129 by the white monks. Dice the 12th century it became one of the richest abbeys of South Occitan. It preserves the remains of many counts (the father of Gaston Phoebus). It reached its apogee with Benedict XII, born in Cante (09) and became pope in 1334. Jealousy and resentment are the source of the decline of the abbey. In the 16th century, the abbey was attacked by the Protestant black gowns. Half a century later, the monks decide to rebuild the abbey site "Tramesaygues. In 1790, it will be again destroyed by fire (because of refusal to accept subjugation abbots of size).
