Population: 220 inhabitants.

History:

In 616 Chérisay is mentioned for the first time under the name "Charisago" but its story begins probably well before that because of the archaeological excavations have revealed the existence of occupation from the Gallo-Roman. Imagine the whole point of this little village with its strategic position on a hill overlooking the plain of Alencon and possessing its own source.

Soon this village specializes in growing grain and the craft of weaving. Besides at least three flour mills have been identified and several looms. With the rural exodus, the population will continue still to fall.

The Church of St. Denis mentioned since 1074, it then depends on the priory of the abbey of Saint Nicolas d'Angers. This time was probably preserved the structure nave. This church will undergo some revisions including the Gothic with the opening of a large window now blocked. It has a furniture sink particularly interesting in limestone and baptismal font dating from the 16th century, and some beautiful paintings like oil on canvas depicting the Martyrdom of Saint Sebastian.

The communal laundry: built in the late 19th century, it has kept its original layout: two distinct basins, one used to see her truly and the other trough.

The Feast of asses: big event dedicated to this animal, which takes place annually the 1st weekend of October.
