According to the Abbot in his Voisin historical essay of 1839, Chémery means "the wood in the center of the township near the creek. Wall or Mhuire is "the very midst of the township.
Like most towns in the Valley of the Cher, the people of Chémery, consisting of a multitude of small farmers often winemakers, married the 19th century republican ideas.
The coat of arms represents Chémery a tower for the castle which stands in the middle of the village a barrel to emphasize the importance of common wine and a fish for its river, ponds and anglers, and a flare to signal storage of Gaz de France.
Located at the crossroads of the Sologne, Touraine and Berry, Chémery is the ideal place for a pleasant stay. Moreover, thanks to its privileged location is within walking Chémery castles of the Loire (Chambord, Blois, Cheverny, Chaumont-sur-Loire, Chenonceaux ...).
You will find many Chémery wine producing AOC Touraine Wine Country Gardens of France Gamay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Cot. A wine list is available that can welcome you to the Office of Tourism.
- The church, rebuilt in 1863, the Church of St. William is unique in its front cover the inscription "French Republic - Liberty, Equality, Fraternity", marks the separation of church property and of the state.
- Castle Chémery: construction of the thirteenth, fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, it can be visited. For more information: email: chateauchemery@wanadoo.fr
- The Mill: Built on the banks of the reindeer, the mill was in operation until 1964. Be visited on request +33 2 54 32 46 66.
- Possibility to visit a wine cellar that stretches over 3 km of tunnels at a depth of 40 meters underground. Information +33 2 54 32 32 21.

- Track 1: Path of the Great Brush 18 km.
- Track 2: Way of the Landes 12 km.
- Tour 3: Tour of Angebaudière 9 km.
- Track 4: Track 5 km of the ponds, you can admire the lake of the Ark, one of the largest bodies of water in Sologne (about 54 hectares). It is forbidden to fish. Bird sanctuary, many kinds of birds find refuge.
