History:
Châteldon is a town which develops an economic activity (markets, fairs), from the 13th century. It lies at the foot of the castle Castrum Odonis stronghold of Count Guy II of Auvergne. Taken by force by the year 1200, by Archimbaud on behalf of the Sire de Bourbon Guy de Dampierre, one can see an episode of the struggle between Philip Augustus, King of France allied with the Bourbons, and the King of England supported by the Counts of Auvergne.
The water Châteldon:
"The water cure your majesty Châteldon sometimes, relieve often and to comfort always." In these terms Fagon, physician to the Court, from 1650 recommends water Châteldon to Louis XIV. Impressed with the benefits of water Châteldon, the Sun King brought in regularly by tanks from the Auvergne for daily use at Versailles. But Châteldon the high road does not end there as soon as 1778, Dr. Desbrest, Advisor of King Louis 14th and Doctor of hosts, publishes a treatise on the Mineral Waters of Châteldon. A book in which he describes as water Châteldon the lightest and most digestible of the Kingdom. Today, water Châteldon is produced only 1,000,000 bottles a year. Châteldon is not a water table, is simply water from large tables. It is also found in large hotels and acclaimed restaurants.
