Châteauneuf-de-Randon is on a rocky peak at 1,286 m altitude. Ancient citadel, the seat of the barony of Randon, the town is famous for being the last battle of Bertrand du Guesclin in 1380. Statue and cenotaph honors the heroes of the war 100 years. Today the quiet village of Margeride, ideally placed on the National 88, is known for the quality of its medico-social and has a tourist offer that makes it one of the jewels of Margeride. Châteauneuf-de-Randon is "Green Station" and "Snow Village".

Do not miss the walkway, walk for about an hour on a plot recalling the ancient ramparts of the medieval fortress, the museum Guesclin, the church.
