To the south of Burgundy, Charolles, City of Charles the Bold Duke of Burgundy, is the former capital of the County of Charolais. The city is surrounded by two rivers: the Arconce and Seed, which allows very pleasant walks and gives the town a medieval air.

Many relics of the 15th and 16th centuries remain: Tour of Charles the Bold, Diamond Tower, Room Bailiwick, Convent of Poor Clares, the Priory of Madeleine. Charolles is also known for the craftsmanship of pottery that bears his name. The pottery of Charolles was created in 1844 by Hippolyte Prost, it has never ceased to produce since.

Charolles, sub-prefecture of about 3000 inhabitants, is a city flowered (3 flowers), a village stage and green holiday resort. It is also the birthplace of breeds of cattle and sheep. The Charolais beef is undoubtedly one of the jewels of French cuisine.

• The Municipal Museum of the Priory: This museum is housed in a former Benedictine priory built in the 10th century. The building is famous for its ceremonial room, and decorated with masks engoulée beam passing through it. It is Cluny site. It presents an outstanding collection of porcelain from Charolles. Are also paintings of Jean Laronze (1852-1937), painter bourguignon. In the chapel of the priory are presented the works of René Davoine (1888-1962), sculptor Charolais, who exhibited at the Salon of French Artists.
• La Maison du Charolais: a museum space for the whole family. At the heart of the birthplace of Charolais cattle breed, the Charolais House invites you to discover a family or group, this animal and the meat world famous.

• Large flea market with over 150 exhibitors, in July, organized by the VCC Charolles.
• Large flea market on August 15 with over 150 exhibitors.
• The Tourist Office organizes guided tours of the city at night. The guide in medieval clothes is accompanied by a score of extras and troubadours, fire eater, riders ... Even Charles the Bold made an appearance!
