A tradition of wine: The wine has a special place in the Mâconnais and Charnay are planted 124 hectares, all classified in AOC. The town is renowned for its production of wines with a "Macon", "Macon-Villages", "Macon-Charnay," "Burgundy Red" and the Crémant de Bourgogne. Sainte-Madeleine Church:
10th century Romanesque church dedicated to St. Peter, is the 16th century that the building is named after St. Mary Magdalene Church. It will increase at the beginning of the 17th century, two side chapels.
A look inside the church: Virgin and Child, 17th century - Marquees Ionic and Corinthian columns supporting the Romanesque altar (re) - Tomb of Claude Brosse - Organ directed by Didier factor Chanon, in 1975.

Domain Champgrenon:
Busy in the 16th century, the area became a prominent property in the early 19th century. It radiates through the personality of its owner, Count de Rambuteau (1781-1869), then chamberlain of Napoleon and the first prefect of the Seine. Facilities and buildings, now restored, testify to that story.
What to see: Gate of sunset (seventeenth century) - Pavilion entrance (seventeenth century) - Orangerie (nineteenth century) - Cooler (nineteenth century) - Farm buildings housing a restored oil mill (nineteenth century).

Purchased by the city in 1996, the area is a landscaped park with an area of 17 hectares in the heart of Charnay. Between vineyards, ruins and restored heritage, the site is open to the public throughout the year (visit).

Former oil mill restored:
The oil mill operated from 1860 to 1974 in the shopping street of the Cut. Subject of extensive restoration, it reopened to the public since July 2008 to Champgrenon field. Mechanisms are put together exactly. Interpretive signs, a documentary film and a scenic design accompany this new space tourism and heritage.

Contemporary Art: Charnay opens to contemporary sculpture. In the heart of town, you will have the opportunity to enjoy two monumental works of Oscar Wiggli and Maxime Descombin, internationally renowned artists.
