Charavines is located in the department of Isere and the Rhone-Alpes.

The municipality of Charavines is best known for Paladru Lake: 6 km long, 1 km wide at most, 392 ha, the fifth lake in France, 500 m above sea level and water at 25 ° in summer.

One of the earliest human communities of the Isere was established on its banks, 2700 BC (Neolithic village of Bathers).

Charavines is located 15 km from Voiron, a city of 21,000 inhabitants where you can visit the cellars of the monastery, the museum Mainssieux and walk down the pedestrian streets.
