Charming village situated in the peaceful valley of the Brenne which flows the river bearing his name, is Chançay city in the 10th century in the charter of the abbey of Marmoutier under the name Cansiacum. The church of Saint-Pierre is a strong story about the seventh crusade through the gift of a relic of the true cross reported by the lord of Chançay, Hardouin de Maille, in 1285.

• The church of Saint-Pierre Chançay:

• Original church dating from the early 12th century and destroyed in 1750 by a rockslide detached from the hillside. The church, under the patronage of St. Peter was built in 1789 under the direction of Luce, architect Tours in the tithe barn on the foundations of a tower of the old castle. It is mentioned as a curiosity in the manuscripts a relic of the True Cross donated to the church in 1285 by Hardouin de Maille, Lord Chançay.

• Summer at Valmer Castle: Every Wednesday in July and August at 15h, come with your family to discover plants and edible flowers. Guided tours for children from 6 years (and adults who accompany them). Free for children up to 18 years. Without reservation.
