Built on the banks of the Saône some 3000 years ago, after a naval base in antiquity, instead of large fairs during the Middle Ages and trading center for modern times and modern times, is now under Chalon-sur-Saône prefecture of Saone-et-Loire, the first town in the department and the second economic center of Burgundy. Another monument: the Carnival. For nearly a century, is one of the most prestigious and famous of France. It is characterized mainly by "gôniots" characters created Chalon, kings of disguise ugly and burlesque, and its carnival rides home to the most important and innovative. Not to mention that it also invests in bike paths and green spaces so popular with tourists and Chalon.

"Chalon dans la Rue": every year in July. This cultural event brings together artists of street theater, ready to show the richness of their creativity and their talents to the public Chalonnais and visitors. This is one of the most important festivals of street show held in France, acclaimed around the hexagon and Europe.
