Céaux is located in the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel on the coast, with the maritime border Sélune, one of three major rivers of the Bay, midway between Mount and Avranches.

Born in Avranches in 1764, Jean-Marie Roger said Valhubert Mellon became one of the great generals of Napoleon's army, he chose to name the soldier's name instead, to Valhubert Céaux, where his father owned a property.

In the past, the coast was dedicated to the salt works that have provided a wide prosperity. The town was mostly very rural, but the last thirty years, there has been migration from the countryside to the city and farm modernization.

Today Céaux is still rural but only a few remaining farms with more surface area. Several shopkeepers and artisans. In the field of tourism, presence of restaurants and accommodation.

The salt marsh, which lies along the coast where it is covered by high tides, and sheep farmers offering delicious lamb.

The town has a beautiful stone-built heritage of the country's Bay, many crosses, a Romanesque church and an old barometer on the facade of City Hall. Since erasure networks and the development of the town, the town was beautified.

Several tours are available on the town, the GR 34 crosses it. These circuits provide beautiful views of the coastline and Mont Saint-Michel.

An evening mussels and fries is held July 13 followed by fireworks.

The 3rd Sunday in August is held a garage sale, then a picnic with games in the afternoon.
