TOWN PRESENTATION

South Lot, medieval Quercy Blanc Castelnau-Montratier invites you to discover. Location: 10 minutes from Cahors exit south of the A20, 25 km from Cahors, 30 km from Montauban, 85 km from Toulouse.

In 1250, the Lord of Ratier rebuilt the city and gives it its name. It is built in a medieval town plan: open space with a large square covered with an eccentric church and narrow streets typical.

In the Quercy Blanc to the festive atmosphere the food is no exception. Lovers of fine food feast on many local products: melon, candied foie gras, cabécous, Quercy lamb, sun-drenched fruits. All washed down with a superb wine from the Coteaux du Quercy.

SIGHTSEEING

The building of the 13th century called "the Castle" has been used as a hospital.
The Town Hall, reworked, is surmounted by a belfry in the 17th century. From 13th to 15th century, Castelnau experiencing a very prosperous industry and commerce of wool are considered.
Jacob House, stately presented to the city by Peter Jacob home library and exhibition halls.
