Chief city of Canton is located on the Chiers. The former Yvois. Epoisso Vicus is named in the Itinerary of Antoninus. Then a relay on the Roman road from Reims to Trier. Important archaeological discoveries in 1949. Gallo-Roman villa near the farm Maugré.
