TOWN PRESENTATION

Cany-Barville is part of the valley of the Durdent. It consists of a large shopping street.

A very well-known market is held every Monday morning on Place Robert Gabel, between the buildings that once served halls wheat and barracks for a regiment of cavalry during the Revolution.

Cany-Barville is bisected by the Durdent river 23 km long, which has encouraged the installation of many mills along its course.


SIGHTSEEING
  • Chateau de Cany:
  • Built between 1640 and 1646 by Peter the Mariner, designed by François Mansart, Cany castle is the symbol of the city. It has, they say, as many windows as days in the year.
  • It has a beautiful antique furniture that can be visited in July and August (all days except Friday).
  • The museum Mill St. Martin:
  • This museum houses a collection of quality items, toys and old tools accumulated over thirty years. Forgotten for 50 years, the grist mill of the 15th century, now restored, has a wheel that turns again to operate the grist mill and generate electricity.
  • Open all year for groups by appointment and from May to October for individuals, in the presence of the preservative.
  • "Cany over water"
  • During a tour of Cany, "over the water, get to know this town typically Cauchois and you know the history of the markets for wheat, different mills that have animated Durdent of church and the park closed St. Martin. You will discover this charming city flower "3 flowers" very dynamic and highly developed commercial fabric.
  • Tours from April to September, every Monday afternoon in July-August-September. All day by appointment for groups.
