The common Budelière is located in the Limousin region in the north-eastern department of La Creuse. It belongs to the borough of Aubusson and Canton of Chambon-sur-Voueize. Budelière is located approximately 52 kilometers west of Gueret, Head of the department of Creuse, 19 km from the Montluçon Allier, 6 miles of Chambon-sur-Voueize and 8 kilometers Evaux - les-Bains. Budelière is geographically interesting. The town lies near the R.C.E.A. (Route Atlantic Center Europe) linking Royan Chalon-sur-Saone. The A71 motorway linking Clermont-Ferrand to Paris, going about thirty miles to the east and further south, it is possible to join the A89 (Clermont-Ferrand - Bordeaux) at the height of Bromont-Lamothe in the Puy de Dome. Budelière is located 91 kilometers northwest of Clermont-Ferrand, 122 km north-east of Limoges, 111 km south of Bourges.
The common Budelière is relatively recent but it has inherited a history that dates back to prehistory and history of these two ancient parishes both Chatelet. These are the Chatelet or Chatillon Entraigues at the confluence of the creek and Tardes de Lascaux and the Chatelet-Landre, on the rocky outcrop between the creek and the Tardes du Chatelet. The first parish, former Gallic oppidum, had a church attached to the Diocese of Bourges. It was originally dedicated to St. Martin and St. Marien and later to St. Radegund. The town of St. Radegund was removed in 1834 to be held at the Chatelet-Landre. In 1851 the siege of the town was transferred to Budelière where there was already a habitat with two mansions, Budelière and Le Clos.
Historic Site St. Radegund: Historic Site remarkable formed at the confluence of the Cher and later the two chapels of St. Radegund and St. Marien. This plateau of 5 ha, oppidum defended naturally, was occupied from Neolithic until the Roman period. This site was very important since ancient road, going to Montlucon used the ford between the two chapels. Furthermore, it appears that traffic on the upper river Cher existed, explaining the presence of abundant debris vinery amphorae found on the plateau.
Lassoux Wood: The wood is Lassoux communal property of 62.45 acres of contiguous, split in two by the old railway line that connected in Montluçon Allier Ussel in Correze. It is located 3 km from the town of Budelière on the northern part of the town towards Montluçon on the RN 993. North of this wood is the stream of the pond Lascaux and South Prairie Farm, bushes or wasteland. The wood Lassoux is located in the peripheral sites of St. Radegund and St. Marien. This forest area is surrounded, in part, of plots planted with cereals and permanent grassland. The whole forest is composed of 30.3 ha and 27.4 ha deciduous conifer. One can notice an enclave (feed dropped) of 4.75 ha within the forest.
The Reyberie Pond: Located along the boundaries of common Budelière and Chambon-sur-Voueize, wood Montbardoux and pond Reyberie spread over an area of 126 hectares. The pond Reyberie is mainly devoted to fishing. Equipment has also been made, mainly on the dam to accommodate the fishermen. The northern part of the pond contains the most interesting areas. Wet grassland nature eutrophic home to large populations of orchids, some of which are very rare in Limousin. Among these remarkable species, we can cite the May or Orchis Orchis flower cowards. The Orchis May is a species that looks wet substrates and is highly threatened due to declining drainage of his favorite media. The loose-flowered orchid is perhaps even more interesting because if it seeks the same type of wet substrates, it nevertheless has a very strong preference for soils neutron basophilic grasslands.
Old gold mines du Chatelet: In 1886, during construction of the station Budelière that were uncovered quartz vein arsenopyrite and pyrite. This is the beginning of what became the second gold mine French. This deposit consists of a series of tangled veins consist of quartz and gold-bearing granulites, collected in the granite. The ore mined in Chatelet is one of the most difficult to treat. Indeed, gold is a complex combination with arsenic in the arsenopyrite. The gold is not free. It requires a complex and costly treatment. The extraction was done by three wells: The wells Hippolyte, the wells and the wells Montenelle the Collector. The latter, which operated the vein Emile, was first built and last used. Gold grades were highly variable. The average was 25 to 30 grams of gold per ton of ore. In 1912, the mine achieved its largest production: 1012 kg of gold were extracted from the basement of the Chatelet.
The church of Saint-Martial Chatelet date from the late twelfth, early thirteenth probably. Its interior has decorations painted murals especially interesting for the Limousin. The dating of the fresco paintings depicting the cycle of months is difficult, but probably dates back to the first quarter of the 13th century.
