The common Brussieu experienced in the Middle Ages and the 18th century an important mining activity. In fact, the first mine producer of silver in France around 1450, at the time of Jacques Coeur. A vein of silver-lead crosses the hill Pampailly highest point north of town. The hill is surrounded by Cosne, a tributary of the Brévenne, along which were developed metallurgical activities in connection with mining. Three sites have been identified, but only one has been the object of systematic excavations.

A Brussieu, from 1380, found traces of Lords of the abbey church of Saint Irenaeus.

Just above the village church is the site of the old castle. In this part of town, you can still see a very old house with mullioned windows and other homes, all built on the same model, dating from the 18th century: the floor was residential and the bottom was used as stable or as weaving. Then, with the opening of the weaving factory in the late 19th to the Giraudière and careers, came the decline of weaving individual.

• The Church:

• It dates from the 16th century as evidenced by a stone dated 1557. It was larger, the inverted input (since she turned back to Jerusalem) and the tower raised in the late 19th century. • The Chapel:

• Mining:

• For a very long history of silver-lead mines were exploited Pampailly. In 1388, an act reported sale Jossard to Hugh, a lawyer from Lyon. • The pack mule Mountains:

• Brussieu is one of the villages of steps along this path of 17.7 km. The walkers will attach their ass and make a picnic break, read about the history of the village and the Monts du Lyonnais, but also supplies from producers.
• From this trail, we saw the bridge of the leg which was built in 1876 and on which passes every summer the tourist train des Monts du Lyonnais.
