In the limit of Quercy and Rouergue, at the mouth of the Gorges de l'Aveyron, Bruniquel monitors the top of its castles, the confluence of the Aveyron and the Vere.

Bruniquel, former thriving merchant city where traded including hemp, flax and saffron, has something intangible: a mood, an atmosphere, or simply a beauty that leaves a lasting impression to the visitor. Your journey through the maze of narrow streets and steep to get to the castle, will be punctuated with beautiful stone houses with carved facades, doors in braces, windows or mullioned mullioned ... And, perched over 90 feet above meandering from the Aveyron, the castle and the castle young old, who like all the old legends of rock feed and actively participate in the magic of this fortified town. • Castles: These two beautiful castles overlooking the village and the valley of the Aveyron. Historic monument since 1840, the castle (the twelfth, thirteenth, seventeenth and nineteenth) is built at the top of the cliff. Property of the Counts of Toulouse in the 12th century it was divided between two branches in the 15th house of Comminges. This dual identity explains the current division of the Castle to the young and old castle.
