Located in the grove Orne, northwest of Orne, near the Swiss Normandy, the town of Briouze is at a crossroads between three departments of Basse Normandie: Calvados, Manche and the Orne. On the railway line Paris - Granville Briouze is located 60 km northwest of Alencon, 70km south-west of Caen, 100 km east of Mont-Saint-Michel.

Briouze is a land of fairs and markets for over 1000 years. His great fair Sainte Catherine in November, the Rogation spring and its market on Mondays in calves is known.
