The municipality of Brem-sur-Mer offers the joys of the sea and nature. Ideally located between the resorts of Les Sables d'Olonne (15 km) and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie (15 kilometers) Brem-sur-Mer invites you to discover its many aspects for your family vacation or romantic in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Brem-sur-Mer has many vestiges of a rich past. Association of former municipalities of Saint-Martin de Brem and Saint Nicolas de Brem, Brem-sur-Mer originated from the distant past. The Romanesque church of St. Nicolas de Brem created in the 11th century is one of the finest medieval monuments of the department. As you walk, you can also see the menhir of Crulière, historic monument in 1934, also known as "The Devil's Stone."
Gastronomic specialties are deemed to Brem-sur-Mer Brem wine and oysters from the Gachère. Indeed, Brem-sur-Mer is now a renowned wine center in 1984 which won the title VDQS (delimited wines of superior quality). Feel free to reach out to producers in the cellars of the country! Let yourself be tempted by the oysters of Gachère.
The historical heritage of Brem-sur-Mer delight history buffs. The church of Saint Nicolas de Brem (XI) with its triangular pediment, its frescoes and a crucifix from the 17th is one of the oldest churches in Vendee.
A detour during a walk, you will discover the menhir of Crulière also known as "The stone the devil".
Stroll through the country from Bremen to bike or walk through cylotouristiques circuits. Four hiking trails you will enjoy the beautiful scenery. You will pass through the village in the Gachère former port formed by the mouth of the Auzance and Verton. A little further on, come watch the wind farm consists of five wind turbines (between Landevielle and Vairé).
For the love of art, be sure to visit the workshops of local artists: pottery, ceramic art in the village of rope, collages, paintings, sculptures and wall installations in the village of Gachère.
Activities for adults but also children, are proposed.
An amusement park is located on the town.
Brem-sur-Mer offers various events throughout the year:
Medieval Festival and Craft Market from May 1 around the church of Saint Nicolas.
Many summer events.
Moules / frites, karaoke, hiking and bicycle trails, mountain biking and fishing from the shore, night markets, storytelling walks and jars home run by the tourist office in July and August.
