Chief town of Canton, green holiday resort, Breil-sur-Roya is 300 meters above sea level and has the distinction of being halfway between sea and mountains.
Our Lady of Mount of Olives, the tower of Cruella, the door of Genoa, St. John the tower (the oldest bell in the county of Nice), the mill of A. Cupper, the eco-museum, the chapel St. Antoine Hermite, the Chapel of St. Anthony of Padua Parish Church Sancta Maria in Albis (baroque) with its magnificent organ case are in themselves of historical monuments.
Many events s'égrennent throughout the year, whether patriotic or festive. The main take place in summer and the highlight is undoubtedly the "Medjugorje Agoust" (in French mid-August), where several days during the dances, games for children and adults take place at a frantic pace and on 16 August place at the Notre Dame du Mont great picnic in the trees offered by the festival committee with distribution pan bagnat, crechente and other local products. All ending with a great medley with boisterous return to the village.
Another major event held every four years on the third Sunday of July, is the inevitable "Stacada" where more than 120 local actors recount the time of day the rebellion and the abolition of Breillois droit de seigneur .

The main sporting activity is undoubtedly water sports. For thrill seekers the canyons of the Maglia, Audin, Carleva, morgues, the Bendola delight budding athletes. The raids on the Roya canoeing, kayaking, tubing, ratfting ... are for amateurs and pros unforgettable moments. All very well supported by highly qualified local providers.
The hikes are also part of the activities, since there is something for everyone, from small one-hour stroll through the olive groves to the tour full day. Some may be from Breil towards the surrounding villages with return by train. The hiker can enjoy the scenery from different angles.
The winter snowshoe hikes may also be practiced in the nearby Valley of Wonders. For ATV enthusiasts, many circuits are plotted in the surrounding mountains.
