Located 35 km north west of Nice, the village Bouyon is an average altitude of 650 m.

Mentioned for the first time in 1155, it was in 1364, the stronghold of "Grimaldi (Grimaldi of Lords Bouyon) and within the county of Provence. In 1385 it passed to Charles of Durazzo in 1388 and became Bouyon Savoyard territory. It was not until 1760 that he returned to Provence. In 1790 he was attached to the Township Coursegoules. Bouyon is finally integrated into the County of Nice March 24, 1860. The village was partially destroyed by the earthquake on February 23, 1887 (138 people have been affected - 36 houses completely destroyed - 10 in part). There is little time yet many "ruins" bore witness to this catastrophe. The attractiveness of the region of Nice and its hinterland has helped restore many of these old houses a chandelier.

• The Church of St. Trophime: Parish Bouyon is mentioned since 1312. In 1683, St. Trophime is said boss (in the church, wooden polychrome bust of 1683 Representative - bust that contains his relics). In 1787, the church is dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption, hence its name: "St. Trophime and Our Lady of the Assumption. After the earthquake of 1887, she was completely rebuilt between 1889 and 1891. One can discover a beautiful altarpiece of the Virgin of the 15th century oil on wood (linden). The altarpiece of the Virgin (c. 1450) is probably due to the Nice artist Jacques Durand (around 1400-1469). Dimensions: Height: 184 cm - Width: 150 cm.
• The chapel of Saint-Pons: built in 1602 (the date engraved in a stone arch in front), formerly dedicated to the Holy Sepulcher, is the oldest of the town.
• The communal oven: it dates from the early 20th century. One can see on its front the arms of the village.
• The Portissol: houses have replaced the ramparts and four primitive access to the old medieval village are passages in houses. This type of construction (also called "Portissol") is common in many villages. It allows, in addition to saving space, having continuous facades.
• Place de la Fontaine: This limestone fountain was built in 1822 by the company on Lombardini plans of the architect Goby. This is a decision of May 12, 1822 the City Council (Mayor Giraudy) decided its construction. It was originally intended to be implanted against one of the houses instead of Tourre. Given the refusal of owners and with a surplus of 2,000 francs is built in the center of that space has since become ... Fountain.
• The Saint-Roch chapel dating from 1714. It was built at the west entrance of the village to eradicate the plague which raged in the region in the early 18th century: in 1673 the Parish Bouyon had about 470 people. The chapel houses a painting of God sent to St Roch the scourge of the plague. The patron saint intercedes then for humans.

• In late May or early June the "Limaces" (originally it was made to pray that the olive harvest is good) takes place in the streets and squares of Bouyon which are illuminated by thousands of candles and snail shells (slugs) filled with oil (Calen) with a wick. Oratories were erected where the procession stopped to pray.
