The origin of the village appears to have originated in the 14th century and "Bourrou" comes from a personal name Gallo-Roman.

The church, dedicated to St. Michel, 1500 date. It was a chapel whose entrance was located on the west side, behind the altar today. This pillow is the only remainder of the time. It was dedicated August 18, 1868 after extensive work has been achieved thanks to the priest who was the architect and builder, with its resources and especially of multiple donations from the public. The many windows were painted by the Carmelites of Le Mans in the 19th century. Near the church is a convent of the Congregation of St Vincent de Paul, now inhabited by a dozen sisters who welcome the elderly and disabled.

Near the village, stand the remains of an old pigeon on the side of a hill overlooking the entire landscape. This building can be classified in the category of isolated pigeon towers, many of which date from the 18th century. Volume and thickness of the walls indicate that it should belong to someone rich with a great field.
