Located 70 km south of Paris, 8 km from Fontainebleau and 10 km from Nemours Bourron-Marlotte enjoys an ideal location on the edge of the Fontainebleau forest estate. The plain extends to the Loing River, which flows into the Seine at Saint-Mammès.

In the 19th century is the great artistic period that begins in the village. By 1830, Caruelle of Aligny and Jean-Baptiste Corot moved into the village where many artists will visit them Barbizon: Harpignies, Daubigny, Diaz de la Pena, Olivier de Penne??

Later, with the opening of hostels Saccault Antony then, other artists will follow: Murger, Sisley, Renoir, Monet, Cezanne, Pissarro, de Musset??

• Features:

• Castle Bourron: the current castle was built on the foundations of a medieval fortress in the late 16th century and early 17th century. Style "brick and stone, with its horseshoe staircase, the castle Bourron is not unlike that of Fontainebleau. Group tours by appointment at +33 1 64 78 39 39.
• Church of St. Severus is one of the oldest French Gâtinais. Dedicated to Saint Severus and St Avoie, it has a very rare scene called "Funeral Littre", painted on the walls of the nave and aisle. Visit the church during Heritage Days.
• Hall Museum: it was created in 1907 at the initiative of Charles Moreau-Vauthier, painter. The latter wish to make the arts accessible to all has asked his artist friends living in the village to donate an artwork to the municipality.
