The Museum of the Resistance Bondues is located in an old fort built between 1878 and 1882 and belonging to the belt of military works for Lille to defend against a possible German attack. Paradoxically, the German troops as Fort Bondues used during both world wars. Between March 1943 and May 1944, 68 French resisters are shot. In 1997, the Resistance Museum moved into the ruins of the fort. His goal: to discover through scenes reconstructed objects, documents and four thematic areas of the course individuals who dared to stand against the Nazi occupiers. The Museum offers guided tours, educational workshops, meetings with former resistance in the region and temporary exhibitions. It has established a clearinghouse and archive of history books, open to any researcher, student or amateur historian.
