Founded in 750, according to writings by Bleo, parent of St. Odile, the village was the starting point of the first peasant revolt. The common wine formed, until the Revolution, with one common Nothalten and Zell. In 1842, the destruction of the tile revealed remains from the Gallo-Roman. The wine village has retained all its authenticity, as evidenced by its Grand Cru Winzenberg.
