Located on the right bank of the Gironde estuary, Blaye boast of being the cradle of a great vineyard. Its wines are recognized worldwide.

Vauban Blaye with one of the most beautiful castles he created. The citadel of Blaye is now listed as World Heritage by UNESCO. Admission is free and the site is always open. For guided tours of the fortress and its dungeons, we recommend you contact the Office of Tourism. To see only the citadel, the Office of Tourism offers the Great Game of the Citadel learning history fun. Sunsets on the largest estuary in Europe, ramparts, moats are gigantic!

Every Wednesday and Saturday mornings, downtown comes alive Blaye around a typical market of the region and its Blayaise good life. Lamprey, shad, asparagus and other local products to the delight of visitors.

In April, come taste the wine Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux in the citadel during the Spring Wine.

In May, encourage athletes who run in the vineyard to win Blaye Marathon.

Around July 14, vibrate to the rhythm of the Jumping International in the moat of the citadel.

In August, attend the Festival Theatre and the estuary.

Finally, in December the Book Fair welcomes you.

The farm llamas Brandacot welcomes you to St. Paul for you to discover this extraordinary animals.

A 5 km south of Blaye, you can also find the site of Gallo-Roman villa and museum in the village of Plassac.

And for those who prefer the medieval period, the fortified house in Boisset Berson welcomes you from June to September. A Berson, you can also practice windsurfing association with Baeabatô.

In season, the clubs and equestrian Cartelègue St. Androny offer horseback riding to explore the vineyards and across the country. The Tourist Office also offers cruises on the Gironde estuary and its islands to discover.
