TOWN PRESENTATION
  • Blangy is located in the heart of the valley of the Bresle as its name suggests, between the Bresle and the High Forest of Eu. It is served by an interchange of the A28 and the railway station located on Blangy-sur-Bresle line Tréport Beauvais-Mers.
  • A little history:
  • On March 9, 1592: King Henry the fourth resident of Fountain Manor during his campaign in Normandy.
  • In 1802 the capital of the canton is transferred to Foucarmont Blangy.
  • In 1944 the city was badly damaged after a bombing.
  • On April 9, 1962: Blangy takes the name of Blangy-sur-Bresle.

SIGHTSEEING
  • The natural attractions:
  • The Valley Bresle: natural border between Normandy and Picardy, Bresle is a 72 km long river which flows into the Channel at Tréport. The Bresle stream is classified first class. It remains one of the jewels of fishing heritage of France by the presence of sea trout and Atlantic salmon.
  • Ponds: Bordered by the forest of Eu in the west, the valley of the Bresle has a large number of ponds. These are popular fishing grounds. But also walks and water sports.
  • The forest of Eu: Between Valley and Valley Bresle Yeres, the forest of Eu spans 9315 hectares and is composed of several massifs. You will discover, through forest roads and trails sometimes meandering, sometimes hilly, remarkable trees such as the Good agreement where an oak and a beech grew up together and seem to be fed by the same root. Look for them, you will find on the site of the Queen Mother. Royal Forest, it carries the marks of its history: the poles at the intersections of forest roads are melting, recalling the glorious hunts of kings. The most famous is the Post Master John.
  • Arboretum: A unique venue on the outskirts of the Manor of Fountain Blangy-sur-Bresle. This botanical garden was created to preserve and protect endangered species. It lists a large number of plant species. You will find an explanation to support each flora.
  • The architectural features:
  • The Church of Our Lady: In the heart of Blangy stands this remarkable monument dedicated to the Blessed Virgin. It is a building with three naves of the thirteenth, fourteenth and sixteenth centuries. This is the last survivor of the three churches that had the city in the 14th century. Its façade and gate were renewed in the 16th century but his first one roof collapsed in 1689, 1916 and 1919. She paid a heavy tribute to the two world wars, especially the second! On June 7, 1940, she was burned and destroyed during the bombing of the city. The current appearance of the church is the result of a reconstruction made between 1952 and 1957. Despite its inability to cross eras, the Church of Our Lady of Blangy contains within it some beauties of the past like a bas relief which could be saved. Dating from 1497, it is now visible on the first pillar of the nave left on entering, it represents "the Virgin and Child and Donor. This bas relief is ranked nationally. Other prestigious beauty: the wooden statue of "Our Lady of the issue. She is venerated since the 16th century, when a plague ravaged the Vimeu. The blangeois call it the "Miraculous Virgin".
  • Manor Fountain: Built by the abbot of the 16th century Tréport (1607). In 1576, King received a grant from the clergy for the war against heretics and the abbey, taxed £ 1,800, disposes of the fee and the various lands. Jacques Heron, esquire, lord of Guimerville, acquires Fontaine, which soon passes by marriage to the family Bommy. It occupies over two centuries. On March 9, 1592, King Henry IV, who was staying at the manor during the Normandy campaign, writes a letter to the aldermen of Rennes, informing them that he continues the siege of Rouen. Francis Calonne Avesne, one of the last survivors of the Knights of Malta French, died there February 21, 1840. Today, this building houses several museums: Museum of Modelmaking, Archaeology, Geology, or Museum of Music and instruments. The Museum of Glass will present to share 400 square feet of exhibition making manual or mechanical perfume flasks, with the key demonstration of a master glassblower.
  • The village of Merovingian Fatra: The Fatra began in August 1999. Since summer 2000, the federation Talu archaeologists and surrounding areas reconstructed according to archaeological sources, a small village with its domestic structures Merovingian and crafts next to the mansion of Fontaine. Volunteers of the Fatra in traditional costumes give an overview of the daily lives of residents Talu (achievements and firing pottery, bone work, wood and glass).
