The footprint of the Dukes of Gramont is ubiquitous in that territory, as evidenced by the beautiful ruins of the castle fortress (XII-XVIII century), a listed building.
The church contains the tombs of the Dukes of Gramont, there are also a wonderful way of the cross by artist René-Marie Castaing, Grand Prix de Rome.
The old houses of the Rue Saint Jacques remind visitors that Bidache was an independent principality until 1789, with commercial activity developed. You can always visit the old port stands and walk along the old towpath along the Bidouze.
A Jewish cemetery attests to the presence of a large Jewish community in the 17th and 18th century.
Bidache stone, very hard limestone with veins of flint called the "Tignes" by the quarrymen, represented another important resource for the township. It is still used today.
If you go through Bidache, be sure to ask the Tourist Office of audio-guides that will tell the story of the village, with commentary by Bidachots, during a walk that takes you from the castle to the stele stonemasons through the church, the fountain and the Dalai path, not to mention the typical houses of the Rue Saint-Jacques.
