Betschdorf is known for its famous pottery blue and gray stoneware salt and varnishes for its beautiful half-timbered houses from the 18th century! On both sides of the main street you can admire their picturesque character, and when summer comes the houses with geraniums bloom and other flowers of spring!

This is the 18th century emigrants from Rhine carrying a novel technique based on the opening of the local sandstone salt imported this noble art of pottery in the town. The dominant color is gray and cobalt blue typical Betschdorf. Artisans shape today with passion, polish pottery stoneware salt. Some potters offer studio visits and workshops of pottery for those who wish to learn this art and get better acquainted with the various stages of manufacture.

• The Museum of Pottery:

• The pottery museum is the memory of this ancestral activity. It is located in a wonderful house of the late 18th century.
• You'll find rich collections of pottery stoneware salt from the Middle Ages to today. A guidance system headphones you will evolve in different rooms at your own pace. You will be told the origins, techniques and development of the original craft. You will end the visit by the reconstruction of a pottery workshop, a video projection showing the various stages of manufacture pots and potential discovery of a temporary exhibition.

• Joint Church of the Assumption of the Virgin of Betschdorf: This church is remarkable for its choir, which dates from the 15th century when the nave was built in 1766, but also and especially for his frescoes probably painted around 1400 by a unknown.
