• History:

• Bernières-sur-Mer is one of the oldest cities of the Côte de Nacre. Many discoveries, stations and instruments relating to the stone age, bronze and iron, suggest that the region was inhabited by so-called primitive Saxons and Normans succeeding the Celts a few centuries later. Gallo-Roman are scattered on the territory of the municipality, and are even visible in the cliffs of the "Cape Romain" east of Bernières.
