Picturesque town at the foot of Mont Sainte-Odile, 200 m at the mouth of the valley St. Ulrich and the foothills of Kirchberg and Altenberg, Barr owes its prosperity to its forests, vineyards and tourism. The surface of the ban is 2,100 ha including 1,589 ha of forests. Barr currently has 6000 inhabitants.
Barr is the wine capital of Bas-Rhin. Her vine climbs the hills bordering the valley of the Kirneck, indicated by the little white house perched high. It includes the famous Grand Cru Kirchberg.
