Nestled in the Pyrenees, a beach, a port, the vines are what you learn on reaching Banyuls-sur-Mer. Your interests will then push through the streets of Cape Osne then a little further to the Puig del Mas, a former Roman oppidum where the spirit of the village remains the strongest. In addition, to the Col de Banyuls, lie the vineyards. It is on this land gives rise to that noble and rare wine that bears the name "Banyuls". Your walk in the hinterland will take you through plantations mimosas, olive trees, prickly pears, until Maillol Museum, where works are held by the great artist. Then you will walk on the waterfront that takes you to the port. Both picturesque fishing port and marina, bordered by the Allées Maillol, it is animated by the artists' studios and the Aquarium was established in 1885 by the University of Paris. Boat trips and scuba diving will take you to the discovery of cliffs and caves, an exceptional flora and fauna of a unique nature reserve. In the evening, enjoy the inevitable aperitif on the terrace of a cafe, the sound of the Sardana.
