This town has fully preserved its character and its rural traditions. Agriculture and livestock are present everywhere, and crafts are well developed. In his small hamlets welcome is warm. This town is built against the mountain and bordering Parmelan Thorens-Glières. This is the starting point of many discoveries through picturesque forest and pasture of the Anglettaz to the top of Parmelan.

The Parmelan offers many walks and hikes. Since the summit (1832 m) you can admire the Annecy lake. The lappiaz protected by the limestone cliffs form a lunar soil.

The church is typical Savoyard Aviernoz, founded in 1896, it has among its features a baptistery in solid chestnut, a wooden crucifix and a polychrome altarpiece restored both in gold leaf.

Aviernoz holds an annual fashion (village festival) in September.
