Located in Auvergne, south Issoire, at the confluence of the Allier and Alagnon, the common Auzat-la-Combelle lies on both sides of the Allier. On the right bank is the village of Auzat-sur-Allier, old town winemaker, and on the left bank of the villages of La Combelle, and Tansac The Theron. The Combelle has a heritage that bears witness of mining by which the village grew. Indeed, it was long process for the extraction of coal in this region because it was very good. Unfortunately, the veins are difficult to exploit, production ceased in the 70s.

In 1998 the names of the main villages Auzat-sur-Allier, The Combelle Auzat-la-Combelle were merged to give the current name of the town.

The site Saut du Loup is a rocky outcrop overlooking the valley.

The remains of the castle which dates Cocu Middle Ages are on a rocky outcrop near the village of Auzat-sur-Allier.

You can also visit the Romanesque church of Saint-Geraud dating from the 12th and 14th centuries. It was then enlarged to Gothic and modern eras.

Near the town you can visit the town of Issoire and museums.

It is also possible to walk in the park Livradois-Forrez to enjoy the scenery.
