Stop on route to St Jacques de Compostela, the ancient Gallo-Roman oppidum dominates the valley of the Garonne.

Access to the village through a gate topped by a tower called the clock tower (seventeenth century). Unique in the south-west, the circular hall in the village, was rebuilt in the 19th century. Outside the city, is the former Benedictine priory, now the present church of St Peter. Skippers important center, the port retains its chapel dedicated to St. Catherine, patron saint of sailors.
