Auribeau was erected in the 11th century and decimated by the plague in 1348. Bishop Bishop Grimaldi contributed to its reconstruction by using families of Liguria.

The medieval village, perched on a rocky outcrop at the mouth of the gorge Siagne, is facing the sea lanes to Narrow Stairs flowered house houses some dating back to their barrel vault in the 14th century.
