Finds various prehistoric and Gallo-Roman Gaul were made in the territory of Attichy or to Faloise or especially to the east of the country.

The place appears in history under the name of Attipiacum villa (containing the founder of a Gallo-Roman Attipius). Clotaire first raising it to Soissons, the capital, to 560, a monastery in honor of St. Medard, bishop of Noyon, the solemn procession that takes the body of the prelate to his new home, crossing the Aisne to Attichy.

The land was owned from the 12th century, the house of Montmorency. Mathieu I, Constable of France, abandoned to 1132, the Abbey of Prémontré, some who wanted to pasture his castle. He consented, as lord, in 1137, that of Hadvide Attichy donation made to cure the same abbey, generosity found by Gorlin, bishop of Soissons, and confirmed by King Louis the Fat. The cure was placed under the invocation of St. Medard.

Mathieu in the second act of 1202, inherited the manor in 1160. He yielded his title and his land to the fifth Bouchard de Montmorency, his older brother.

After a succession of lords, the earth was divided. Found in the titles of the 16th century Bochart, the Mazancourt, Sacqueville titles of several of Attichy, the largest part of the estate belonged to the lords name Hacqueville, and was ceded by them to Marshal de Marillac.

Attichy remained in the house of Tremouille until the revolution of 1789.

The castle was huge, surrounded by ditches, along with extensive gardens, park, water ...

The estate was broken up in 1789, and the castle, after having passed through several hands, was demolished around 1796.

The territory of Attichy contains, as the whole district, many remnants of Celtic and Roman times. On November 29, 1838, was discovered in the same town, a sarcophagus made of stones brought, from which we withdrew staples and imperial medals.
