At the heart of the Grove Ornais, Athis-de-l'Orne is a municipality, capital of Canton, belonging to the district of Argentan. It is twinned with the towns of Bromyard (England), and Schöppenstedt (Germany). It is also host of the Bocage and Suisse Normande Ornais, between Flers and Condé-sur-Noireau.
