Around 1853-1854, the owner of the farm (now demolished) of low-Borde had discovered a dolmen and burial dating from the Bronze Age. Arnaud-Guilhem, because of its location near the banks of the Garonne, have felt the influence of Roman rule and also be subject to the barbarian invasions. In the 5th century, was created the County of Comminges which belonged Arnaud-Guilhem, until it was transferred under the jurisdiction of the Religious of Bonnefont from 1136 to 1790.
SIGHTSEEING
In the village center you can admire the old rectory, which today is the village hall. It was built of flat stones and the country would have been before its partial demolition of an additional storey timbered. It seems that the commissioners of the abbey of Bonnefont could accommodate between 15th and 18th century.
On the main street, you may notice a large number of drainage spouts that were kept by the villagers and from the 18th century.
Proupiary on the road, you will see a crucifix erected in honor of Germaine Cousin St. Germaine, a shepherdess Pibrac. Canonized in 1867, she is the patron saint of shepherds.
You will not leave without going to Arnaud-Guilhem the oratory of Our Lady of Picheloup. It was built in 1859 in memory of the apparitions of the Virgin Mary to four girls who were guarding their flocks Picheloup.
