Village banks of Bez, Arjuzanx is now surrounded by a national wildlife area offering beautiful waterscapes that promote the development of many wild species including the thousands of wintering cranes, from late October to late February ( visits to the reserve held by the Guards Mixed Naturalists Union, manager of the Reserve). This exceptional site is the result of a successful transformation of an open pit mine in protected natural area.

Aas Juzan, comes from the Latin "arx" citadel, fortified hill above a valley mire, or "juzan" Gasc., Bottom, flowing with Bez. Failing yet vestiges of pre-or protohistoric, Arjuzanx a medieval past. Capital of the barony of Brassenx, Arjuzanx had a castrum (royal castle) was destroyed in 1338 by the lord of Lescun. Several lumps of earth, remnants of fortifications, were still visible long ago. From the fountain called the "Naous TUCS, we could see the 9 eminences (Manibat, The Pendel, Pilha?). From the castle, only exist until our time a large mound and the tower of the "Carreyre", shot in 1960 during work to operate the lignite mine by EDF. There existed another castle Montolieu, cavere a seat, and a church "Sancta Maria de Montoliu, disappeared in the Middle Ages. The fountain of "crystal" had the power to cure the "evil fat" or cradle cap children, with a cloth that touched "lou sen Christau" cross in the church. On Bez was installed one of the oldest mills Brassenx, that of "Réaut" certified in 1486. Arjuzanx was located at the crossroads of communications channels, on the road Pies Villandraut. The landscape has been disturbed by mining from 1959 to 1992. The rehabilitation of land has given birth to a huge artificial wetland, consisting of large freshwater lakes (500 ha), a refuge for migratory birds, including cranes wintering on the site. A beach open to the public has been built on the lake Arjuzanx. Arjuzanx was the home of the photographer, folklorist and poet Ferdinand Bernède Landes (1869 to 1963).

• In the heart of the village church of the 12th century included in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments. The church "Johannes de sanstus As Suzan" appear on the map of churches in the diocese of Dax, in the 12th century (Liber Rubeus). It is an imposing edifice, consisting of a nave, flanked by buttresses, and fortified by a tower defended by bretèche.
