Arbois is a remarkable natural site of vineyards, forests, a river running through the first category of "the Cuisance" which originates at the foot of the majestic Planches, which has been graded as "Natura 2000"!

Arbois is also a vineyard that prides itself on being the first AOC (AOC) wines of France May 15, 1936. This is the wine capital of the Jura with 850 ha of vines in controlled appellation, almost half of the surface of the Jura vineyards. The name Arbois is one of the best known of the four names that are Jurassiennes Côtes du Jura, the Star, and Chateau Chalon Arbois.

Arbois has many labels including restaurant and tourist site of outstanding taste. Arbois is also labeled small town character of Grandfather, a small city in France, and has been awarded the coveted land of art and history with its neighbors Poligny, symbolic capital of the County, and Salins-les-Bains, prestigious town famous for its Salt classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.
