Arbanats is a small village situated on the left bank of the Garonne. It is always the jurisdiction of Portets with Virelade. Among the first lords of the family is Arbanats Fargues, and then Got Preyssac. These are actually three related families.
Arbanats developed north of the Departmental 1113, around the tower and the Town Hall. Today, newcomers settle south of the Departmental, the town has more than one thousand and Arbanatais Arbanataises. The rural town of 762 ha has 292 hectares of forest and 166 hectares of vineyards.
SIGHTSEEING
The church Saint-Hippolyte built in limestone dating from the second half of the 15th century. It was enlarged in the 16th century by the addition of aisles. The chapel of the Virgin is carried out in 1662 and the façade of order in the 18th century classic. In 1708 it was placed under the protection of St. Radegund, which is also a representation of 19th century, also in limestone.
Below the statue of the saint dressed as queen, one can discover the fountain of medieval origin. Tradition assigns a miraculous nature in relation to various saints. Water can be collected in a basin used as a laundry.
