Real door between the Cevennes and the plain of the Gardon, Anduze site has been occupied since prehistoric times. Passage between the mountains and scrubland, its strategic location helped develop one of the oldest and most powerful lords of Languedoc in the Middle Ages, fostering trade and prosperity: the salt trade, silk, minerals, transhumance animals ... The region was also marked by the history and the Protestant revolt Camisards. The many rivers running down the Cevennes have promoted human activities as evidenced by a rich built heritage: bancels, mills, fountains, spinners, silkworm, farmhouses and castles shape the landscape. To explore the area, many hiking trails wind through the garrigue, the vineyards or the Cevennes hills. Many varied landscapes that encourage sports activities, relaxation along the rivers or exploring villages.
The vessels Anduze, known since the 17th century, experienced a revival over the past twenty years. Inspired by Florentine terracotta vase this large is decorated with garlands and macaroons. The potters Anduze and surroundings have been innovative in form and color pottery while respecting the tradition and authenticity of the famous vessel Anduze.
