In its green vineyards and forests, the city of Andlau part of a magnificent landscape. Andlau developed around the abbey, founded in 880 by Richarde, wife of the Carolingian Charles the Fat. It became the stronghold of the family Andlau, the town has its own coat of arms. City wine and gastronomy, place des Grands Crus of Alsace (Kastelberg - Wiebelsberg - Moenchberg) Andlau houses a remarkable architectural heritage: St. Richarde abbey, castles Spesbourg and Upper Andlau, numerous Renaissance pieces of stone and wood ... Romanesque sculpture is in the foreground. While respecting tradition, Andlau turned to the future: the city boasts some 700 industrial jobs or service.

• Abbey of Saints Peter and Paul, classified "Monument Historique". Consecrated by Pope Leo the ninth in 1049, this church contains a remarkable Romanesque elements including a 11th century crypt guarded by a bear in sandstone, a porch and a frieze storied 12th-century high of 30 meters, and the richest carved portal Alsace. The Virgin date from the 15th and 16th centuries and the Chair of 1703. Open to the public in the summer or on request for groups.
• Chateau Haut-Andlau: Altitude: 451 m on the Silberberg - Historical Monument in 1926. The castle, characterized by its two towers, dominates the north Valley Kirneck and Barr in the south valley Andlau. The top castle, with no yard, was built by the lords of Andlau between 1337 and 1344. The entrance was designed with the "scrolling technique" as a succession of traps against the enemy. The stately home, lying (37 m by 9 m at its widest point), to the plain lit by large windows with pointed arch, was still inhabited by Rangers until 1796. The arms of Andlau are still present on some stones.
• Castle Spesbourg: Altitude: 460 m, on a rock - Historical Monument in 1967. Built in 1247 to control the valley and the nearby abbey, the castle has a large square tower 24 m high and an inner courtyard. The stately home is perforated to the east by arched windows, some even ornate sandstone. Fragments of polychrome frescoes are visible on one of the arches of the ruins, with capitals carved fireplaces, they evoke a sophistication unknown in the 14th century. Remained vacant since the end of this century, it slowly falls apart. The castle is definitely ruined during the Thirty Years War (seventeenth century), while serving as a refuge for people. In recent years, been significant consolidation work.
