A little history ...
The presence of man is as old as evidenced by human traces back to antiquity. For several centuries, the territory is attached to the French nobility. The textile industry is developed in the 19th century. Water mills established along the Thue, who still operate until 1945, the son and treat textiles but also the grain. It is surrounded by a large park. During the Second World War, a camp designed to accommodate the thousands of victims and injured to the city of Caen is installed in the building.
The castle of a place called "Les Planches" In the 16th century, the area belongs to the family of boards and through marriage to du Buisson de Courson. This house is listed as an historic monument in 1982.
The fortified farms: Several typical farmhouses with their courtyard, the oldest 13th-century dovecote, stables, bakery, its breadbasket, have been redesigned in the 19th century.
Mills: Located on Route des Moulins, the village in the 19th century had a dozen mills located on the river Thue. Today, the mills are unfortunately without wheels. The "Moulin de la Porte," which had two wheels housed in the Landing Canteen Canadians.
