Nestled in the middle of two valleys, and Thue Seulles, this county is located halfway between Bayeux and Caen.

A little history ...

The presence of man is as old as evidenced by human traces back to antiquity. For several centuries, the territory is attached to the French nobility. The textile industry is developed in the 19th century. Water mills established along the Thue, who still operate until 1945, the son and treat textiles but also the grain. After the First World War, farmers settled on the Belgian territory. Spared during the Second World War, although very close to landing beaches, Amblie assists in Caen hosting a refugee center and injured thousands of victims.

• The Church: The Romanesque nave dates from the 12th century, the facade was redone in the 13th century. Its portal is surrounded by a torus decorated with rings, because that is rare in very few places in France.
• Castle Family Achard of Bonvouloir: Castle Family Bonvouloir Achard of the 19th century belongs to descendants of one of the companions of William the Conqueror in the Battle of Hastings. It is surrounded by a large park. During the Second World War, a camp designed to accommodate the thousands of victims and injured to the city of Caen is installed in the building.
