Located at the foot of the massif Coiron in the plain where the vine flourishes, Alba-la-Romaine is proud of its rich historical past. Alba was in the ancient capital of the people of Helvians Alba helvorum. City without ramparts, the city was active in the 1st century av. Until the 5th century AD ap. AD when it hosts the first bishops Vivarais. For a time, the city remains absent from historical sources, but from the 11th century Aps is based on the location of the current village.
