Origin of name: From Allius (Allius area) and then successively Allodi, Allio, come Allione, Aillion, rags, Aillons because of the many hamlets, finally Aillon-le-Jeune in 1863 when the parish has been replaced by 2 common after connecting of Savoy to France in 1860.

The station Aillons - Margeriaz, true mountain village is nestled in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional du Bauges.

Located near the city gates 4 of Savoy (25 km from Chambéry, 35 km from Aix-les-Bains and Annecy and 50 km from Albertville), the resort enjoys a privileged location that gives direct access from large cities. This is the station nearest Savoie Lyon and Paris!
