Perched on a cliff above the Ardeche, the fortress Aiguèze (XI-XII century) mentions the rivalry between the Count of Toulouse and the Count-Bishop of Viviers supported by the King of France. Destroyed by the king in 1384, Aiguèze reborn in the 15th (hospital fortified) and the Renaissance until one of his "children", Archbishop of Rouen, is the patron (1910-1915). With multiple sites and ordered his view of St. Martin, the gorges of Ardeche, the Ventoux, is since 2005 one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of France".

Around side south to beyond the vineyards (Côte-du-Rhone Gard) and olive spreads to scrub the site of palaeo Viel Castel, along GR4; mistral side is the cliff to peak on the Ardeche to the suspension bridge (1905) Saint-Martin.

In this village of 200 inhabitants, streets and alleys have ground-floor medieval floors of Renaissance, a Renaissance church and a steeple "Gothic" in 1915 (as the nave painted frescoes, restored in 2004). The "Castell", former walkway overlooking the valley of the Ardèche.

Medieval Festival: the first Sunday of July.

In summer: Provencal market on Thursday - Days "Car Free" (July and August) - Concerts in the church and on the main square Jeu de Paume.

Hiking in the scrub by the GR4 to the gorges of Ardeche, or to the nearby hamlets and villages (La Roquette Trescouvieux, Saint-Julien-de-Peyrolas, Salazac south side, St. Martin-d'Ardèche north side).
