Aiglun is located on the right bank of the Bléone, 8 km from Digne-les-Bains, Prefecture of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. The town is bisected by the Route Napoleon (N85) between Cannes to Grenoble. The old village on the heights was abandoned in the early 20th century. Different neighborhoods have been built and the town currently has about 1 200 inhabitants.

Aiglun is located in an environment of great beauty on the border between Provence and the Alps.

The heritage of the town is spread over three sites: the Church of St. John (in ruins) dating from the 12th century church of St Mary Magdalene dates from the 16th century (where concerts are held) and the bridge over the old road Napoleon.

Hiking trails marked by the Geological Reserve of Haute Provence connect the different sites between them.

The festival committee is very active Aiglun. It organizes festivals twice a year: in late June and early September.

The Friends of Old Aiglun about it organizes a festival each year in the church of St Mary Magdalene (the Sunday closest to July 22).
